The seventh or the Sahasrara chakra is the chakra of pure consciousness, where there is no duality. Symbolized by a lotus with one thousand multi-coloured petals, it is located either at the crown of the head, or slightly above it. Sahasrara is represented by white color and it involves such issues as inner wisdom and freedom from all issues related to the body. Moon is the planet connected to this Chakra.

सातवां या सहस्रार चक्र एक हजार पंखुड़ियों वाला कमल है। यह द्वन्द रहित शुद्ध चेतना का चक्र है और यह सिर के ऊपर, या उससे थोड़ा ऊपर स्थित होता है। इस चक्र कमल का रंग सफ़ेद है और इसकी एक सहस्र पंख़ुड़ियां बहुरंगी हैं। यह आतंरिक चेतना और ज्ञान का चक्र है और यहाँ मनुष्य को अपने शरीर की समस्त चेतनाओं और व्याधियों से मुक्ति मिल जाती है।  इस चक्र से जुड़ा गृह चंद्र है।

When the female Kundalini Shakti rises to this point, it unites with the male Shiva energy, and a state of liberating Samadhi state is attained. Its role may be envisioned somewhat similar to that of the pituitary gland, which secretes hormones to communicate with the rest of the endocrine system and also connects to the central nervous system via the hypothalamus. Sahasrara’s inner aspect deals with the release of karma, through meditation.

जब नारी रूप कुंडालिनी मेरुदंड में ऊपर को उठती हुई इस चक्र में पहुँचती है और यहाँ स्थित शिव रूप में पुरुष शक्ति से मिलती है तो मनुष्य संसार के बंधनों से मुक्ति देने वाली समाधी में स्थित हो जाता है। इस समाधी में उन सब कर्मों का नाश हो जाता है तो अनगिनत जन्मों से सूक्ष्म शरीर में लिखे होते हैं।  समस्त कर्मों का नाश होने से मानव पूर्णतया मुक्त हो जाता है और सिद्ध पुरुष बन जाता है।

The Sahasrara chakra is above all chakras and made up of a combination of all the chakras on top of our head. The opening of the seventh chakra helps the lower chakras within us to become integrated with each other and it establishes a strong connection between us and the cosmic energy. This integration carries a person to universal consciousness. In Vedic astrology the moon defines the super conscious state of our mind, in other words, it signifies an area beyond our consciousness.

सहस्त्रार चक्र अन्य छह चक्रो के ऊपर स्थित है और इन सभी चक्रों के गुणों का समावेश इसमें होता है। जागृत सहस्त्रार अन्य छह चक्रों को समन्वय की स्थिति में ले आता है और सारे चक्रों को आध्यात्मिक ऊर्जा से परिपूर्ण कर देता है। मनुष्य इस अवस्था में त्रिकालदर्शी बन जाता है और उसे इतिहास, वर्तमान एवं भविष्य का सम्पूर्ण ज्ञान हो जाता है।

Moon represents our mind and just as it quickly moves from one Nakshatra to another, our mind too moves from one thought to another. When mind has been controlled and made to focus on the soul within, it begins to understand the grand principal behind this creation. Our soul or Atma is a tiny spark of God or Sat-chit-Anand, and as it gets focused on pure bliss it begins to experience pure, ever present, ever continuous and ever new bliss. The man then rises above this mundane world and gains absolute freedom.

चंद्र हमारे मन का प्रतीक है और जिस प्रकार यह एक नक्षत्र से दूसरे नक्षत्र पर भागता रहता है, उसी प्रकार मनुष्य का मन भी एक विचार दूसरे विचार के पीछे भागता रहता है। जब समाधी स्थिति में मनुष्य अपने सम्पूर्ण विचारों को परमात्मा में स्थित कर लेता है तो उसे इस ब्रह्माण्ड के सारे रहस्यों का ज्ञान प्राप्त हो जाता है। इस अवस्था में उसे सच्चिदानंद परमेश्वर से साक्षात्कार हो जाता है और चरमानंद के प्राप्ति हो जाती है। मनुष्य से उठ कर वह सिद्ध पुरुष बन जाता है।

This state blesses one with eight Sidhhis which are listed below.

v  Aṇimā: reducing one’s body even to the size of an atom

v  Mahima: expanding one’s body to an infinitely large size

v  Garima: becoming infinitely heavy

v  Laghima: becoming completely weightless

v  Prāpti: having unrestricted access to all places

v  Prākāmya: realizing whatever one desires

v  Iṣhaṭva: possessing absolute lordship

v  Vashitva: the power to subjugate all

v  इस स्थिति मैं मनुष्य को निम्नलिखित आठ सिद्धियों की प्राप्ति हो जाती है।

v  अणिमा : अपने शरीर को अणु  जितना छोटा कर पाना

v  महिमा: अपने आप को जितना चाहे उतना विराट कर पाना

v  गरिमा: अपने आप को जितना चाहे भारी बना पाना

v  लघिमा: पूर्णतया हल्का बन पाना

v  प्राप्ति: कहीं भी जा पाने की शक्ति होना

v  प्राकाम्य: मनोवांछित वास्तु को प्राप्त कर पाना

v  ईशत्व: सभी वस्तुओं और प्राणियों पर राज्य कर पाना

v  वशित्व: सभी को नियंत्रण में कर पाना
